TURING TEST, CAPTCHA, reCAPTCHA to... noCAPTCHA !
An internet bot, also known as web robot, WWW robot or simply " bot " is a software application that runs automated tasks over the Internet. Typically, bots perform tasks that are both simple and structurally repetitive, at a much higher rate than would be possible for a human alone.

How do CAPTCHA puzzles and that "I'm not a robot" box work, and are there ways for spammers to get around them?

Louis von Ahn is an associate professor of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, and he's at the forefront of the crowdsourcing craze. His work takes advantage of the evergrowing Web-connected population to acheive collaboration in unprecedented numbers. His projects aim to leverage the crowd for human good. His company reCAPTCHA, sold to Google in 2009, digitizes human knowledge (books), one word at a time. His new project is Duolingo, which aims to get 100 million people translating the Web in every major language.
The Turing test, developed by Alan Turing in 1950, is a test of a machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to, or indistinguishable from, that of a human.

To prove he was human, Brian Christian competed against some of the world's most advanced AI. Brian Christian competed in an annual Turing Test competition as part of the Loebner Prize, in which he had to convince a group of judges that he was a human, not a computer program. He won, and was named the "Most Human Human." This video is part of Machines With Brains, a series about what it means to be human in a world that’s increasingly filled with robots.

What is consciousness? Can an artificial machine really think? For many, these have been vital considerations for the future of artificial intelligence. But British computer scientist Alan Turing decided to disregard all these questions in favor of a much simpler one: Can a computer talk like a human? Alex Gendler describes the Turing test and details some of its surprising results.
